Multiple gear pumps

Gear pumps are suitable for multiple setups,whereby the drive shaft for the 1st pump is extended to a second and even a 3rd pump. A coupling is fitted between each pair of pumps.

In most cases each pump is isolated from its neighbor, i.e. the suction ports are separate from one another. A common suction port is also possible as an option.

Caution: Basically, the specifications for the single pumps apply, but with certain restrictions:Max. speed: This is determined by the highest rated pump speed in use.

Pressures: These are restricted by the strength of the drive shaft, the through drives and the drivers. Appropriate data is given in the dimensional drawings.

A gear pump is also called a positive displacement device, which is like a piston in a cylinder. When one tooth enters the fluid space of another tooth, the liquid is mechanically squeezed out. Since the liquid cannot be compressed, the liquid and the teeth cannot occupy a unified space in the immediate time. In this way, the liquid is removed. Due to the continuous meshing of the teeth, this phenomenon is continuously produced, and thus a continuous removal amount is provided at the pump outlet. The displacement amount is the same for each revolution of the pump. With the uninterrupted rotation of the drive shaft, the pump continuously expels fluid. The flow rate of the pump is directly related to the speed of the pump.

There is a small amount of fluid loss in the pump, which makes the operation of the pump impossible to reach*. Because these fluids are used to lubricate the bearings and both sides of the gears, and the pump body is never common without gaps, it is not possible. It is not enough to expel fluid from the outlet, so a small amount of fluid loss is certain. However, the pump can still run well, and for most extruded materials, it can still reach 93% to 98% compliance.

For fluids whose viscosity or density changes in the process, this pump will not be affected too much. If there is a damper, like a strainer or a restrictor on the side of the discharge port, the pump will push the fluid through them. If the damper changes in the event, that is, if the filter becomes dirty, clogged, or the back pressure of the limiter rises, the pump will still maintain a constant flow rate until it reaches the machine limit of the weakest part of the device. (Usually equipped with a torque limiter).
